We’d like to introduce you to version 1.2 of Store Credits and Gift Cards for WooCommerce. In this major update, we’ve made some important changes, which will allow making gift cards more flexible, professional, and user-friendly. Read on to learn about all the new features.
Attach PDF File for Gift Cards & Store Credits
Now gift cards have an attached PDF file in the order email. The file contains all gift card data, which can be printed, distributed physically, or saved for future use. Also, admins can customize the PDF file name in the General settings.
QR Code & Barcodes for Gift Cards
This one’s a game-changer for stores operating both online and offline. Admins can now generate a QR code or barcode for each gift card, displayed in emails, in the printable PDF, or in both. A coupon code can also appear below the scannable code for manual redemption when scanning isn’t an option. Size is fully configurable in pixels, giving you control over how it looks across different formats.
Store Credit & Gift Card Applied to Shipping and Tax
Previously, gift card discounts applied only to product totals. In v1.2, admins can now allow gift card and store credit amounts to cover shipping charges, tax, or both at checkout. It gives customers more value from their gift cards and reduces friction at the final step.

Guest Gift Card Purchase & Send
Now, visitors do not need an account to purchase, send, and use their gift cards. Admins can also enable multiple customers to use the same gift card until its balance is depleted. And optionally display the remaining balance to guest users directly on the Cart or Checkout page.
Show Gift Card Balance to Logged-In Customers
Logged-in customers can now see their available gift card balance right on the Cart or Checkout page after applying a code. No guessing, no leaving the page.
